Saturday 2 May
10am-1pm
Blampied, Victoria
This workshop is an invitation to connect with the beautiful material that is clay. To meet it with curiosity and wonder, to develop a sense of intimacy with this raw, rich, material of the earth.
Kristin’s intention is to create a safe space for people to come together to reflect and share and learn new skills. A space that encourages heartfelt conversation around creativity, connection, presence, and play.
During this three hour workshop, Kristin will guide you through a range of hand-building techniques to help you create your own unique pieces, made from a mix of foraged wild clay and commercial stoneware clay. Kristin will also speak through the practice of foraging and processing your own wild clay.
During the workshop, you will be given 1.5kg of clay to work with. All pieces will be glazed and fired and ready for collection within 2-3 weeks of the workshop, with an option to have your pieces posted, or pick up from Kristin’s home studio in Blampied.
This workshop is perfect for beginners, and more experienced makers; all levels are welcome. All techniques learned in the workshop will allow you to continue your practice in the comfort of your own home, with very few tools.
Vegetarian grazing board and herbal teas will be served.
$10 from every ticket will be donated to the Dja Dja Wurrung Aboriginal Corporation.
